I turned this game jam prototype into a full game called Curious Fishing! You can play that here :)

Use the arrow keys to move and Z to reel in your hook. X to restart the level, S to return to the menu.

Noob question. I just supported this game thinking I was going to be able to get the Cart so I can play it on my Miyoo. How do you do that?
Thank you for the support, that’s very kind! Unfortunately this is one of my only PICO-8 projects where I haven’t provided the cartridge, because I knew I wanted to turn it into the full Curious Fishing project and potentially commercialize that at some point.
To download my other PICO-8 cartridges try playing them on the Lexaloffle forums, then in the bottom left of their cartridge player click the Cart button. You can see all of my personal cartridges here and there’s many more on the forums.
Please feel free to request a refund since you weren’t able to get the cartridge, this isn’t something I can issue because itch holds the funds until I request a payout. You can request a refund by contacting itch support

I know you're hard at work with the Defold version of this game, but it'd be awesome if the PICO-8 version got some love some time in the future too! For starters it'd be nice with a save feature, which is really easy to add. And it doesn't look like the game's on the BBS? It'd be great if you submitted it there so it can be easily found on Raspberry Pi PICO-8 devices etc :) Awesome game, looking forward to the full version!
Thanks! I do intend to back-port the finished game to PICO-8, when I do I'll add that version to the BBS. It'll be a long while yet though.
Would you mind uploading this version to the BBS, in the work in progress section maybe? would be great to find it from splore and play on handhelds :)

Is there a way to go back one step?
No, you have to reel it all the way back in. This was done intentionally to discourage players from brute-forcing the solutions and instead force more thoughtful, slower, confident movement. It is a little punishing at first though, or when you inevitably hit the wrong key by mistake.
